A leap year only occurs every four years, where an additional day is added to the month of February as the 29th day.
History and tradition suggest that the thought goes back to the 5th century when legend has it that an Irish nun known as St Bridget made a complaint to St Patrick (Patron Saint of Ireland) that woman we’re having to wait too long for their suitors to propose. St Patrick was then said to have struck a deal with St Bridget and ordered that there would be this one day in February that occurred every four years, when woman would be allowed to propose.

Recently a customer came into our Lewes showroom, and showed us their cherished ring. It really was in desperate need of restoration, and this was exactly what was asked to help with.

August is the month of summer holidays, sunshine (well it’s meant to be sunny!) and if you are lucky enough to have a birthday in this month the lush green gemstone peridot.
Peridot known as “the evening emerald” because of its sparkling green hue should have a beautiful lime-green hue without any hint of brown or yellow. No inclusions should be visible to the naked eye although dark spots might be able to be seen under a loop.
Our most recent bespoke creation is a beautiful tanzanite necklace for one of Lauren's customer in our Uckfield branch.
The name "tanzanite" reflects the gem’s geographic origin. The world's only known commercial tanzanite deposit is in northern Tanzania. The mines are all located in an area of about eight square miles in the Merelani Hills, near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Tanzanite is an exotic gemstone, it is rarer than diamonds and varies between lush blue, vibrant violet and rich purple. Tanzanite is also the birthstone for December.
They’ve studied (and partied) hard, attended lectures and sat their exams but the real adventure starts once those all-important results come through. It’s a nerve-racking time for all involved but hopefully receiving the good news that was anticipated, and with all the late nights to meet deadlines being worthwhile, Graduation is a real honour and a time to celebrate before the next chapter begins.
The Longines Les Classique is a popular model and one we see regularly. This particular watch is in a fairly poor state - take the condition of the case back seal - I'm not surprised theres been significant dirt/debris ingress.
Dan explains the process of a recent watch bracelet refurbishment he carried out on an Omega Constellation -
This Omega watch came into us with a lot of scratches on the case and strap from general everyday wear.
