Our most recent bespoke creation is a beautiful tanzanite necklace for one of Lauren's customer in our Uckfield branch.

The name "tanzanite" reflects the gem’s geographic origin. The world's only known commercial tanzanite deposit is in northern Tanzania. The mines are all located in an area of about eight square miles in the Merelani Hills, near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Tanzanite is an exotic gemstone, it is rarer than diamonds and varies between lush blue, vibrant violet and rich purple. Tanzanite is also the birthstone for December.

Our customer has a great love for the gemstone tanzanite, due to its origin and its beauitful colour. She wanted to set her loose oval cut tanzanite gemstone into a piece of jewellery, so we began to explore different design options.

When it comes to loose gemstones, the options are endless. We can set gemstones in rings, earrings, pendants, cufflinks, brooches, bracelets and bangles.
Gemstones can be set in a variety of metals, such as yellow gold, rose gold, white gold, platinum and palladium. Additionally, we can supply extra gemstones to sit along side your gem.

To help narrow down the customer’s decision making, we presented some of our current stock that was set with blue oval gemstones. This included sapphire white gold necklaces and a tanzanite ring (picture and links below). The customer decided she wanted a diamond halo necklace in yellow gold.

Our customer had an instant love for the tanzanite ring and the sapphire double diamond halo pendant, but in yellow gold. The final decision was that she would wear a necklace more, so we proceeded to have the pendant CAD designed, so our customer could see exactly what her bespoke necklace would look like.

The customer’s last design choice was the quality of diamonds that sat in the halo surrounding the tanzanite. Diamonds vary in colour and clarity, so we can offer different price and quality options to fit personal needs and budgets.
Once the diamond quality was chosen, it took 4 weeks to be crafted. Our customer was over the moon with her unique pendant, and was so happy she had finally set her loose gemstone into jewellery.
