W. E Clark & Son offer a comprehensive in-house jewellery repair and remodelling service, as well as jewellery repair by post. Unlike many other jewellers who send their repairs away to a third party, we have our own on-site goldsmith. Our goldsmith is extremely experienced and gifted, with the knowledge and expertise to repair any jewellery.
Based in our Lewes showroom, our goldsmith seeks to retain the integrity of each piece that passes through their hands. Our clients are always delighted with our exceptional results. All our jewellery repair work is guaranteed for 12 months (unless stated otherwise), and all items are insured whilst they are on the premises with us. Your jewellery couldn’t be in safer, more expert hands. Whether you need ring repair, ring cleaning or replacement stones for any one of your rings, we are more than happy to help bring your cherished pieces back to life.

We can repair or add new shanks to rings, add new clasps, re-size rings and clean and polish any jewellery needing revival. We treat every piece of jewellery as preciously as if it were our own.
Your most valuable pieces of jewellery should be checked for damage and wear every six months to avoid breakage and stone loss. Our specialist service will identify any weaknesses and prevent deterioration.
The claws around stones in any jewellery item are exposed to everyday wear and tear. In the long term, this can result in the claw wearing and even breaking off. For peace of mind, your most valuable pieces of jewellery should be checked by us for damage and excess wear every six months to avoid breakage and stone loss.
Our specialist service will identify weak spots or missing claws and enable us to prevent deterioration of your precious and sentimental pieces. We can re-tip deteriorating claws or rebuild breakages to their original high standard. You won’t be able to tell the difference from the original.
In the unfortunate circumstance of losing a stone in a ring, neckace or brooch, W.E. Clark & Son can source and fit near identical replacements for all types of gemstones and diamonds.
We pride ourselves on our stone matching service to ensure your jewellery is restored to as near to its original form as possible. We have access to a vast range of diamonds, opals, precious, semi-precious and non-precious stones. Our list is extensive, and our diamonds and gemstones are all exceptional quality and have been hand-selected by our in-house gemmologists.
David Clark is a trained Gemmologist, with many years’ experience in selecting and matching diamonds and gemstones, including for the purpose of jewellery repair.
We are extremely knowledgeable in the variety of shades of all stones and will always colour match and grade replacements to the existing stones. We will also inspect settings and claws and advise if any repair work is required to keep your new stone safely in place. Please get in touch with us or come into one of our showrooms for ring stone replacement costs, or any other stone replacement costs so our expert Goldsmiths and gemmologists can properly examine the piece and discuss the jewellery with you.
