Bespoke Design: Diamond Palm Tree Pendant

At W.E. Clark and Son, we endeavour to fulfil all of our customer enquiries. Usually, we find something suitable in our showrooms, however, occasionally we need to pursue bespoke design options.

Vicky, from our Lewes branch, spoke with a gentleman who was searching for a white gold diamond set palm tree pendant for his wife, who had spotted one on a recent cruise they had been on to celebrate their ruby wedding anniversary. Not wanting to buy on impulse, they didn’t purchase the pendant, and later regretted the decision. The customer had searched for many months, even contacting their cruise company but had no success.

As her birthday was coming up, he was determined to find a comparable palm tree pendant to present. Vicky was keen to assist him in his search, especially as it was to mark such a special moment for the couple. The gentleman emailed Vicky with design specifics such as a rough height, width, how many fronds were on the palm and where the diamonds were placed on the palm tree.  We sent these details to our design team for a CAD image of how the pendant would look once made.

We provided the customer with price options for both 9ct and 18ct white gold, along with the CAD image. Although this was intended as a birthday gift, it was also to commemorate their ruby wedding anniversary, which led to the lovely idea to add a hidden ruby on the reverse of the palm tree, as seen in the image below.
