Our senior sales consultant talks about a recent commission he undertook for one of his wonderful clients.

Last year, my client spotted a spectacular opal and diamond ring in our window. As you will see, the oval cabochon cut opal was set in a very delicate open work diamond encrusted platinum mount.

It was immediately obvious how much she loved it as the ring was most certainly not coming off her finger until she had finished admiring all of the different colours this particular opal boasts.

May this year, we dicussed resetting the opal into a contemporary and wide yellow gold ring incorporating two round cut diamonds which were set into another of my clients rings.

I contacted one of England's most reputable jewellery design & manufacturing companies and explained my clients vision. Using CAD CAM design software, the very talented Heather created some designs which you can see below.

I showed the initial design to my client and she was over the moon - it was exactly what she had in mind. After giving the go-ahead on the design, Heather arranged for the ring to be made in resin by a 3D printer. This resin example was really helpful as my client then had the opportunity to try the ring on and make sure the size and proportions were perfect - which it was!

The green light was given to Heather and the ring was cast in solid 18ct yellow gold with the two diamonds flush set into the side and the fantastic opal being the showstopper on top.

A fantastic finish and a very happy client.
