Let us talk you through a alteration we did recently for her lovely customers;

Mrs Jackson and her daughter Miss Medlicott came to us with a very special request. To convert their precious diamond brooch, that is a family treasure into a beautiful ring for Miss Medlicott to wear.
The brooch itself was set with 9 individually old cut diamonds in the shape of a flower cluster, all set in 18ct yellow gold resting on a plain bar.

The idea was to take the setting as it was and create a ring that was more practical for Miss Medlicott and more suited to her taste.
A computer aided design (CAD) was made of the ring which measured each stone and its position within the cluster. From this a wax mould was created and a completely new mount for the diamonds was created. Each diamond was set to create an identical cluster to the original brooch, but this time it was set in 18ct white gold to really bring out the beauty of the diamonds. The shank of the ring was crafted in 18ct yellow gold to create a contrasting effect and to give a subtle nod to the original gold of the brooch.

Miss Medlicott and her mother where absolutely thrilled with the outcome. The ring is now a much loved and worn piece of jewellery as it should be. The ring has been beautifully crafted to be able to carry on for many, many years as a family treasure.
