The National Association of Goldsmiths (NAG) was established in 1894 to serve and support the Retail Jewellery Industry of Great Britain and Ireland. The Association promotes high professional and ethical standards among its membership to inspire consumer confidence and to enhance the reputation of its members.
Membership comprises professional retail jewellers, both independents and multiples, who are committed to an honest and knowledgeable approach to their business. Government, Trading Standards, industry and the media turn to the Association for advice and we also have a strong international presence, in particular via our very close association with the International Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO).
W.E. Clark & Son are proud to be members of the Company of Master Jewellers. By being members of the largest national jewellery buying group we are able gain many advantages and then pass them onto our customers.
The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) was formed in 1980 and is now the leading buying group for retailers of watches and jewellery in the UK and Ireland.
With some 135 members representing 240 shops across the UK and Ireland, our membership is made up of a varied mix of jewellery retailers, from quality, established family jewellers to some of the most dynamic and forward-thinking contemporary jewellers in the industry.
John Clark is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain and has over 40 years experience in the trade. David Clark has achieved both the Professional Jewellers Diploma and the Gemmology Diploma and is currently working to achieve the final part of his FGA qualification.
W.E. Clark & Son has been a member of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce for many years; John Clark is a past president and in April 2012, after 6 years on the Lewes Chamber of Commerce executive committee, David Clark was delighted to be voted as President of the Chamber, which now offers support to over 800 businesses and organisations in the Lewes area.
